Water fun!

This week we headed down to the Entrance for fun and games.

Takes me back to my childhood of enjoying many picnics and fun days out with family and friends enjoying the free entertainment in the park.

It is a great place to go with the kids including the beautiful Entrance waterfront,  two parks, a water park, a large grass area, pelican feeding, tables, plenty of take away stores, the best ice-cream places, restaurants and a carnival.

During school holidays there is usually shows and events on for the whole family to enjoy.

Most of the entertainment is usually free and it is a great way to spend a day out with the family.

Here's a link to some upcoming events at the Entrance: http://www.theentrance.org/events/

Anarkid Love!

This week I was blessed to receive the gorgeous little Anarkid apple onesie I was lucky enough to win on Instagram.

It was sent really quickly and they were very friendly.

It came nicely wrapped and it was exciting to open it up.

The first thought was LOVE.

Such a simple design so cute and beautiful for my little Samuel to wear.

The organic material feels really nice and really soft on his skin.

Very good sizing as well - it fit well without being bulky but still had plenty of room for him to grow.

First Christmas Lunch!

Over the weekend we got to enjoy a nice family lunch with my husbands side for Christmas.

It was the first year all the family was together. Most years we've had disjointed lunches with one family member, then another etc so it was great for the spirit of Christmas to have one big lunch with everyone.

As usual my mother-in-law put on a huge spread with ham, turkey, pork, prawns, salad and roast veggies. She always goes to so much effort!

My son Samuel got to enjoy his first ever Christmas lunch! He had a ball eating lots of finger foods including some yorkshire pud and turkey. He is such a little piggy!

I made a caramel slice and a mars bar slice for dessert which turned out pretty well considering I only quickly made them the day before.

Here's the Mars Bar slice - looks a bit rough but it tasted awesome!

Here's my recipe:

Utensils:
Mixing spoon
Small Saucepan
Lamington Tray
Baking Paper (or grease tray)

Equipment:
Stove Top
Fridge

Ingredients:
3 Mars Bars
90g Butter
3 cups rice bubbles

For chocolate topping:
1 packet of Nestle dark choc melts (you can use milk choc instead)
30g butter

Method:
Put rice bubbles in mixing bowl
In a small saucepan on the stove:
melt the mars bars and butter
make sure it is on a low heat and stir continuously
Once melted pour immediately over rice bubbles and stir quickly
Press the mixture into a lined or greased lamington pan

For topping:
Melt choc melts and butter in a small saucepan
Again over a low heat and stir continuously
Once melted pour over mars bar/rice bubble mixture in lamington tin

Put in fridge.

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas and Welcome!

Merry Christmas and Welcome!

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Crystal and I am a mum of three wonderful children - Tyler Age 9, Emily Age 4, Samuel Age 7 months.

I am an active Christian at the Encounter Life Church and encourage Christian values to my family and friends.

I like to spend my days playing, exploring, learning, teaching and having fun with my children and my husband. As you can imagine I'm a busy mum between looking after the 3 kids, housework, shopping and running errands. I also study part-time at uni which I finish mid next year and will be returning to work early in the new year.

I am also a hobby comper - I love entering and winning competitions. I've won two holidays to Queensland, a holiday to South Australia, and most recently a holiday to Tasmania. I have also won lots of toys, beauty products, movie tickets, clothes, event tickets, household appliances and more.

I also like getting samples of new products to try and I do online surveys to earn vouchers, cash etc.

This blog will share some of our good times, show comp prizes, samples and vouchers I get and show the bargains and reviews of great products our family finds and loves.

Look forward to you following our journey xx
